Simulink Based Spectrum Sensing

چکیده
There is an explosion in the field of communication technology today with the advent of numerous services being offered by various vendors. The available spectrum today is very limited and highly congested. Moreover, static allocation and assignment to a particular party leads to inefficient usage as it cannot be put to use incessantly. Also, the allocation is made for a specific technology and henceforth companies cannot utilize it for new services or techniques. Cognitive Radio is an upcoming area of research which addresses these concerns. Cognitive Radio makes use of Dynamic Spectrum Access wherein the complete spectrum is used by different users as and when they are available. This requires a spectrum sensing to detect available parts of the spectrum. This paper explores Simulink based Energy Detection which is a method under spectrum sensing and compares its performance with cyclostationary method under the high noise scenario. The research work also compares the performance of the system under various noise models such as Gaussian, Rayleigh and Rician. In this paper, we present a Link-16-based tactical data link (TDL) simulator with cognitive antijamming capability (CAJC). CAJC improves antijamming capability of existing TDL by adding the cognitive radio (CR) spectrum sensing-based jammer detection. In the presented TDL, each terminal that senses (or detects) the jammer signal can avoid the jammer spectrum opportunistically. For jammer signal...

Cognitive radio (CR) technology has been suggested for effective use of spectral resources. Spectrum sensing is one of the main operations of CR users to identify the vacant frequency bands. Cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) is used to increase the performance of CR networks by providing spatial diversity. The accuracy of spectrum sensing is the most important challenge in the CSS process sinc...

Nearly 79 to 89 percent of the radio spectrum is not utilized at any instant of time, while on the other hand some regions of spectrum suffer from congestion simultaneously. A cognitive radio is an intelligent radio that can recognize the idle frequencies as well named as spectral holes or white spaces (which are not being used by any primary or licensed user) and allot them for the use of unli...
متن کاملSpectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks: An Analytical Model for Evaluation and Mitigation of Performance Degradation
Cognitive Radio (CR) networks enable dynamic spectrum access and can significantly improve spectral efficiency. Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) exploits the spatial diversity between CR users to increase sensing accuracy. However, in a realistic scenario, the trustworthy of CSS is vulnerable to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious CR users deli...
